“MAKING LARGE PROJECTS APPEAR SIMPLE HAS ALWAYS APPEALED TO ME”.
– Nicholas Reich
Coming from a family of artisans, and a childhood passion for illustration and carpentry, Nicholas Reich began working in the Interior design and building industry at age 15. Soon after, he became design director of an architectural glass firm and became enamored by the heavier construction portions of the construction projects he worked on. Soon his skills on massive framing projects became well known, allowing him to build high-profile projects all over the country, from the Department of Motor Vehicles building in Alexandria, Virginia, to historical restoration projects in Grand Forks, North Dakota. In 1996, Nicholas returned to his home state of California in South Orange County to specialize in building custom homes and commercial remodeling.
He established his first woodworking studio in Modjeska Canyon refining his skills with custom cabinetry. A little over a year later, Nicholas & Co. Woodworking and Design opened its doors. In response to the high demand for building and full-scale interior construction projects, Nicholas Builders Inc. was formed, allowing the two companies to work side-by-side on high-end residential projects building custom homes.
Nicholas’ success allowed him to to get back to his roots and pursue his real passion... design. Nicholas designs all of the architecture for the projects the team now builds. He still produces traditional pencil sketches for various parts of his designs, much like the drawings he did as a child.
